The scent of fresh coffee, the hum of conversations, and the warm glow of storefront lights—this was the scene at Meridian Mall during the Chinese New Year celebration.
The energy was electric, with red lanterns swaying overhead and crowds gathering to enjoy the festivities.
I was there to capture the excitement of the event, and in the midst of it all, I snapped a few bonus portraits of my friend that perfectly complemented the festive atmosphere.

While documenting the event, I came across some unique spots that made for beautiful candid portraits. Even with the lively crowd, I was able to find little pockets of space that allowed for some stunning photos. And if there were any stray passersby in the frame, I edited them out to keep the focus on my subject.
One of my favorite photos was by a striking yellow wall, where the bold background perfectly complemented the red dress. The color contrast made the image pop, turning a simple moment into an eye-catching celebration shot.
Playing with Light and Texture as I moved through the mall, I found a spot near the glass wall of the H&M store, where the lighting and reflections created an artistic effect.
The glass added an extra layer of depth to the image, making it stand out beautifully.
Another highlight of the day was capturing a portrait by a tall brick wall. The warm tones and textured backdrop framed the subject naturally, adding a classic feel to the image.
