The Mandrake Baby: A Magical Newborn Photo Session at AA Studios in Lansing, Michigan
When Julia and Lei contacted us regarding a newborn session with a Harry Potter theme, we knew we were in for a treat!

Julia and Lei wanted to show their passion for the wizarding world and celebrate the birth of their little ball of magic, baby Henry with a special magical photo session.
From spell books to Mandrakes, this session was filled with joy, laughter, and a little unexpected magic (more on that later).

Baby Henry’s Wizarding Debut
We started the session with a bright background and some iconic wizarding decorations. Henry had a white owl to cuddle with, and he even had a tiny baby-sized wand!
One of our favorite images was capturing Henry gently holding his mini magic wand, as if he was already casting his first spell!
Mandrake Baby Photos in Lansing, MI
After capturing plenty of charming and cozy wizarding moments, we switched to our Mandrake Baby photo setup.
The backdrop was changed, and Henry was carefully placed in a flower pot that we prepared for this session. We chose a moody backdrop with greenery—just like the famous Mandrakes from Professor Sprout’s greenhouse.
Julia and Lei, put on the earmuffs and robes, as any responsible Herbology student would! =)
Then they got into position for the perfect shot. And, as if on cue—Henry let out a cry!
Normally, we do everything we can to keep babies calm and comfortable during sessions, but in this case, his tiny cry made the Mandrake Baby photo absolutely perfect.
🔮 Of course, we never encourage making babies cry for a photo! If your little one stays peacefully asleep, the photos will still be just as magical. Safety and comfort always come first in our sessions!
